Con­sid­er Clay Shirky's com­ments on this ar­ti­cle. It's ab­so­lute non­sense, based on ran­dom guess­ing.

I prom­ise this: this blog will have no in­sight on any­thing as long as I write it. I could­n't han­dle the pres­sure.

no insight or no new insight?  I believe you misunderstood Clay Shirky's comment.  'Digital media' in that context only make sense if it refers to media producer, not average facebook users.

Let me see.... no, it not only doesn't make sense in that context, it makes even *less* sense in that context if you read the rest of the article. He's just pulling epigrams out of his ass.
